10 steps to lower your workplace emissions:
1. Turn all PC's monitors and printers are off when not in use - especially at the end of the day.
2. Unplug any battery chargers, tranformers and other appliances when not in use.
3. Keep radiator thermostats down to a reasonable level.
4. Change any traditional bulbs to low energy bulbs, and turn off lights when not required.
5. Have your paper recycled. This is often cheaper than paying council trade waste prices.
6. Choose energy efficient vehicles for your flleet. These provide cheaper running cost and lower taxation to both the business and users.
7. Only boil the required water when making tea. Alternatively make everyone a cup and make their day.
8. Suggest a conference call rather than a meeting to avoid uneccesary travel.
9. Avoid printing out documents which could be stored electronically.
10.Use the stairs rather than the lift. Lift useage can be between 5 and 15 percent of a company's electricity useage. So get some exercise and use the stairs.
